Support Bulverde Soccer and Save Money at the Same Time!

triquest_flyer.png

We are excited to begin raising money for our Bulverde Youth Soccer Association. This season we’ve chosen the Champions Soccer Discount Card and Mobile App (The New Technology- Entertainment Book in the palm of your hand). We are encouraged to sell as many as possible. The funds raised for these cards will be put back into our fields, wells, and several other maintenance needs for our organization. So your support of just $25.00 would not only help BYSA, but also bring you savings at many retailers and businesses locally and nationally. These Discount cards will be available to you at the concession stand. Hurry and get yours, while supplies last!

‘01 Lady Rangers Select play in State Championship

01_lady_rangers.jpg

BYSA ‘01 Lady Rangers, the U11 Girls Soccer Division II team, had an amazing fall season.  Undefeated in regular season play, they qualified for STYSA Western District Tournament where they finished in second place and advanced to play in the STYSA 2011 Division II
Fall State Championship Tournament in San Marcos.  This was the first year for the girls to compete on a Select level and the talented ‘01 Lady Rangers really proved they were up for the challenge. Led by Trainer Chris Forbes and Team Manager Trey Jacks, the team consists of Jewelia Anton, Camdyn Bandy, Ashley Fouse, Cori Gutierrez, Danielle Keranen, Tanyse Moehrig-Woodard, Alicia Salas, Haley Smith, Alyssa Spulak, Amber Teague, and Carissa Vasquez.  We are very proud of these girls and wish them well in the Spring 2012 Directors Cup.

BYSA Welcomes Kate McCollum-Mudge as Director of Academy Soccer

We are very excited to announce Kate McCollum-Mudge as the new Director of Academy for the Bulverde Rangers Soccer Club.  Kate brings a lifetime of experience playing and/or coaching soccer to our program, along with a passion for training youth of all ages in the game she loves. She and her family are residents of the Bulverde/Spring Branch area and she has two kids currently playing soccer with BYSA.  Her son Jack plays U8 Rec and she coached her daughter Sophie’s U10 Rec team this fall.

kate_mccollum_mudge_and_sophie.jpgKate has several years experience training Academy and Micro-Academy teams, including Bulverde from 2003 through 2005, the Lions in 2006 and the Classics Elite from 2007 through 2010. Additionally, for the past 11 years she has been Head Coach of the Reagan HS JV girls soccer team and the Asst Head Coach for their Varsity girls soccer team, both of which have enjoyed much success in the time she has been on staff.

Kate has several years experience training Academy and Micro-Academy teams, including Bulverde from 2003 through 2005, the Lions in 2006 and the Classics Elite from 2007 through 2010.  Additionally, for the past 11 years she has been Head Coach of the Reagan HS JV girls soccer team and the Asst Head Coach for their Varsity girls soccer team, both of which have enjoyed much success in the time she has been on staff.

Kate truly enjoys coaching younger players because of their enthusiasm for the game and their willingness to learn.  She feels that kids at this age have so much potential and she takes great pride in teaching them the proper skills and techniques.  While she wants the kids to have fun playing and learning the game, she runs a tight program and expects the players to pay attention and put forth effort in practice and games.  She believes that the Academy program should offer a balanced mix of technical skills training for the kids to improve individually as well as tactical team skills and strategy for the kids to work together as a group.

Kate is looking forward to a great spring season and wants to meet all the Academy players and parents ASAP to introduce herself and get to know you.  We have scheduled a training session and meet-and-greet on Sunday, December 11th, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at Jumbo Evans.  We hope that you will make the effort to have your child attend this session.  We are also working on some future dates to conduct additional off-season sessions to give the kids an opportunity to keep touching the ball between now and when formal Academy training begins for the spring season.

I realize that anytime there is a change in trainers that there can be mixed feelings among the parents and players.  I have known Kate for several years and am confident that she will do a great job with our Academy kids. I want to thank you all for your participation in the BYSA Academy program and we look forward to having you back this spring.
